is originated fromJavanese, from Indonesia, as combinationof

(dot/point).The term was originally used for the traditional technique to color the cloth by manual wax-resist dyeing technique, but nowadays the term is used for thecloth that use

patterns even thoughthe cloth doesn’t use
batik
technique.
