CANYON VIEWSA+ SCHOOL DRIVEN BYCHILDREN’S NEEDS
Dear Canyon View Families,
I hope everyone had a nice Rodeo Break and that you were able to spend some time with family and friends. Today, report cards are being sent home with your child. If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress or the information contained in the report please contact your child’s teacher and they will be happy to review the information with you. This month, we have three important events taking place around campus. First, Dr. Seuss week begins on Monday, March 3. To honor Dr. Seuss, we have several dress-up days and fun events planned throughout the week. This was a big hit last year with our students and staff, and we’re excited to do it all over again! Detailed information will be emailed out this weekend! On Friday, March 7 students will be bringing home their Math Madness packets. Our goal this year is to begin to raise enough funds to purchase and install a new shade structure for our kindergarten playground. We have partnered with Community Schools to help fund this important two-year project, and we need our entire community’s support to reach our lofty goals. Please be looking for the Math Madness packets next Friday, and we thank you in advance for supporting our school! On Friday, March 14, we will be on half-day schedule due to spring conferences. Kindergarten Plus through 5
grade will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m., while regular kindergarten (half day) will be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. Since it is only a half-day, teachers generally plan on holding conferences with just a few families. Each grade level has a separate conference plan that suits their grade level configuration. If your child’s teacher(s) feel that a conference is needed you should be hearing from them in the coming days. If you do not hear from them, but would still like to have a conference, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teachers.
