A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a uniqueproduct, service, or result.Let’s think about that for a minute. Many organizationscreate projects but they miss the ‘temporary’ part. Depending onthe type of project, you may wind up with some “thing” be it acomputer program, a class, or an offering of some type. Once this‘thing’ is produced, the project is completed. The ongoing thingor deliverable is now an operations activity. Project Management Plan
[Output/Input]. A formal, approveddocument that defines how the projected is executed, monitored andcontrolled. It may be summary or detailed and may be composed of one or more subsidiary management plans andother planning documents.The project plan is the sum of all documents related to theproject. This includes the project schedule, change managementplan, communication plan and any other deliverables that you asthe project manager should be considering. Basically, the project management plan is the folder that contains all of thedocumentation related to the project.Unfortunately, you will often find people incorrectlyreferring to the project plan when they really mean to say theproject schedule.
