Specifications The panel measures approximately 11 metres in height (approximately 4 storeys high), with a 6.5 metre span along City Road & a 9 metre span along Clarendon Street. The panel wraps around the intersection and subsequently faces both street frontages (see image enclosed). The external angle at the intersection is approximately 220o. Submission requirements Any submitted artwork must be a two-dimensional image. All entries must consist of an A3 print, a JPEG file and an EPS file of the artwork. Any assistance required to submit these formats can be provided if necessary. Selection criteria A shortlist of artwork will be selected by RMIT School of Art staff, and submitted for review by Salvo Property Group. Announcement of the winner and presentation of the Award will occur at an exhibition to be held at RMIT campus in December 2009 (specific date to be advised). Key Dates Award opens Wednesday 19 August 2009 Deadline for entries Friday 20 November 2009 Shortlisted artists informed Wednesday 25 November 2009 Shortlisted artists to present to Salvo Property Group (final selection) Wednesday 2 December 2009 Announcement and launch of Award Week of 7 December 2009 Reproduction of artwork January 2010 Installation of artwork April 2009 (estimated) Implementation Students will be required to produce artwork only. In the event that a students artwork is ultimately selected as the preferred choice for the panel, all production & installation costs regarding such will be borne by Salvo Property Group, however input may be sought from the artist to assist in reproduction of the image. It is anticipated the actual production process will consist of a digitally printed image on vinyl skin with a sail track installation system.
