Nina an OUM learner wants to complete her assignment titled
Child Abuse by the due date. Even in the midst of handling an
important task in the office, she rushed to Tan Sri Dr. Abdullah
Sanusi (TSDAS) Digital Library at the main campus to look for
information on her assignment. She searched for the books
randomly from the book-shelves. After trying for two hours, she
still could not find the most relevant information. Finally she gave
up, and went back feeling disappointed. The next day, she
informed her tutor of her failure to look for any information. The
tutor advised her on the five key steps when looking for a physical
book. However, she decided not to go to the library. She preferred
to look for information through other means due to lack of time.



a) Briefly describe the TWO (2) types of databases in the

Nina seorang pelajar OUM ingin menyiapkan tugasannya bertajuk
Penderaan Kanak-Kanak (Child Abuse) sebelum tarikh penghantaran
tugasan. Walaupun dia sedang menguruskan kerja penting di dalam
pejabatnya, dia tergesa-gesa ke Perpustakaan Digital Tan Sri. Dr.
Abdullah Sanusi (TSDAS) di kampus utama untuk mencari maklumat
untuk tugasannya. Dia mencari buku-buku secara rawak daripada
rak-rak buku. Selepas mencuba selama dua jam, dia masih tidak
menjumpai maklumat yang berkaitan dengan tajuk tugasannya.
Akhirnya, dia berputus asa dan pulang dengan perasaan kecewa.
Pada keesokan harinya, dia memaklumkan tutor mengenai
kegagalannya untuk mencari maklumat. Tutor menasihatinya tentang
lima langkah utama di dalam pencarian buku fizikal. Walau
bagaimanapun, dia memutuskan bahawa dia tidak akan pergi ke
perpustakaan. Dia memilih untuk mencari maklumat dengan
menggunakan cara yang lain kerana kesuntukan masa.

In times of stress, both the body and the mind are affected.
Stress can be positive or negative and our body is designed to
react to both types of stress. We have to learn about stress to
manage it.

tekanan. Kita perlu belajar mengenai tekanan untuk
menguruskannya.

titled Moral Education can Build a Childs Character. Discuss.

Why do we need Character Education?
Education has had two great goals: to help young people become
smart and to help them become good. Good character is not formed
automatically; it is developed over time through a sustained process
of teaching, example, learning, and practice it is developed through
character education. The intentional teaching of good character is
particularly important in todays society since our youth face many
opportunities and dangers unknown to earlier generations. They are
bombarded with many more negative influences through the media
and other external sources prevalent in todays culture. And at the
same time, There are many more day-to-day pressures impinging on
the time that parents and children have together. Studies show that
children spend only 38.5 minutes a week (33.4 hours a year) in
meaningful conversation with his or her parents, while they spend
1,500 hours watching television. Since children spend about 900
hours a year in school, it is essential that schools resume a proactive
role in assisting families and communities by developing caring,
respectful environments where students learn core, ethical values. In
order to create our schools as the caring and respectful communities
we know they can be, we must look deeper we must be intentional,
proactive, and comprehensive in our work to encourage the
development of good character in young people.

OVERVIEW OF CURRENT ROAD SAFETY SITUATION IN
MALAYSIA

ABSTRACT
Road safety has long been considered as one of social
responsibilities to the Malaysian Government. In the visibility of this
responsibilities, multiple bodies concern on road safety have been
formed within the government departments, private agencies and
voluntary organisations. The Cabinet Committee of Road Safety
chaired by the Prime Minister himself was formed by the
Government. A National Road Safety Plan then was formulated to
give an attention to road safety research programmes, behavioural
modification of road users, road engineering and vehicle safety,
medical treatment and safety administration.
This paper attempts to review the present status of road safety in
Malaysia with special reference to road safety initiatives carried out
by the Malaysian Government especially the Ministry of Works
Malaysia. The contents of this paper will use an overview of
present road accident statistic, national road safety target, Road
Safety Programmes by Ministry of Works Malaysia and discussion
of future strategies to reduce traffic accident.
