hio’s credit unions are celebrating 75 years o service this year. Andthe mission — o providing individuals, amilies, and entire communitieswith economic stability through the dignity o fnancial empowerment —remains the same as it was when credit unions were ounded. This philosophydistinguishes Ohio’s 414 credit unions rom other fnancial service providers andinspires loyalty rom more than 2.6 million members.Credit unions are more than providers o fnancial products and services. Toimprove people’s lives through sel-help and personal responsibility, they oeran array o real solutions: ree fnancial education; special savings programs;short-term, low-interest loans; and one-on-one counseling. The Ohio CreditUnion League is pleased to report how credit unions served their membersand communities in 2008, and how they work every day to improve lives.
