Channels 70 - 83What TV stations were on channels 70 - 83? I can only remember one - CITY channel 79 in Toronto which later moved to channel 7! I have a "977 #its$bishi TV that %oes $& to channel 83 and I remember hearin% cell &hone conversations above channel 70!'on% be(ore CITY-TV) even in the "90s) there were a (ew! *oo%le +,. #or%$e+ /I believe that &ossibly one o( o$r members &$t that site $&!!!!there were abo$t a do1en or more!Ch 73 Yo$n%stown 2 comes to mind! I believe the last 70-83 , channel /that was not a translator was W*4, 4owlin% *reen 2) ch 70) now $sin% virt$al 57 II6C /no idea the 6. channel!There was an +airborne+ station in 2 I thin it was) $sin% 75  7! Wo$ld lie to now more abo$t them!cdWas there ever an act$al Ch 83 in $se (or television transmision?We had a thread abo$t this bac in 5008: htt&:;;boards!radio-in(o!com;sm(;ind!!!to&ic<"059"!0Channels 70-83 were reallocated (or the ori%inal cell&hone band in the early =80s! I $sed to eavesdro& on &hone conversations  when I was a id $sin% those ,. channels) and was wonderin% i( many others did the same! It is act$ally ille%al to listen to cell&hone calls! That=s why those (re$encies are bloced on scanners! 4$t other than the .CC re$irin% TV t$ners to only %o to Channel 9) there  was nothin% they co$ld do abo$t it since the transmissions were narrow-band .#) and millions o( ,. t$ners were already on the maret! 4$t still) most conversations co$ldn=t be heard $nless there were two calls %oin% on at the same time that were s&aced @! #1 a&art!.or the most &art) channels 70-83 were $sed (or translators! There were) as cited) a hand($l o( act$al stations $& there -- channel 57 in arrisb$r%) Aenna! was ori%inally on channel 7") and II6C channel 33 in Yo$n%stown) 2hio was initially channel 73) and there  was) as cited) channel 70 in 2hio) and 79 in Toronto! There were &robably more which I don=t recall! /do note there were #BY ,. &ermits iss$ed in the mid-"90s which were never b$ilt! There were certainly DtranslatorsD o&eratin% on channel 83!
