Pedro Almodvar, Luc Besson, Alejandro Jorodowsky

and Vincenzo

Cerami

indiana (Indian Summer) and El gaucho

Tulum) and Il viaggio di G. Mastorna

detto Fernet

Viaggio a Tulum was the last film script written by Federico

Fellini which never saw the light, Manara.

if not in a comic version through the art of Milo The story tells about the journey Fellini made in 1985 in Mexico to meet the anthropologist Carlos Castaneda. The whole experience was characterized by curious events: anonymous phone calls, strange coincidences and mysterious messages. Back to Italy, Fellini wrote the story for a movie together with Tullio Pinelli. Manara pencilled the comic adaption, which could have become the perfect storyboard for a film never made

Director Marco Bartoccioni is now at work on what was never accomplished before. On the set of the film many silhouette drawn by Manara himself will appear, recalling the typical atmosphere of all masterpieces touched by the genius of Federico Fellini.

Women of the X-Men for Marvel Comics

Barbarella is a fictional heroine created by

Jean-Claude Forest in the French magazine V-Magazine in spring 1962. In 1964 Eric Losfeld published strips as a stand-alone book, under the title Barbarella. The comic version caused a scandal and became known as the first "adult" comicbook. Barbarella is a young woman who travels from planet to planet and has numerous adventures, often involving erotic implications To her creator the character embodied the modern woman in the era of sexual liberation. For the movie in progress that director Rodriguez is going to put on stage soon,

Manara prepared sketches used for character and costume study, which were exihibited
as a premiere during the Venice Comic Art Fest 2008.

Manara is considered the undisputed

master of eroticism in drawings

His most important works, always refined and glamorous, are published in Italy by Mondadori and by leading publishers throughout the world:

Panini Comics, Glenat, Casterman, Planeta DeAgostini...

His most successful comics have been adapted for the big screen

Il profumo dellinvisibile

(Butterscotch)

and Il Gioco (Click)

A comprehensive collection of his entire work in graphic novel format has been released by the most prestigious Italian financial newspaper (Il Sole 24Ore) to great critical and commercial acclaim in 2007

During the first edition of

Venice Comic Art Fest, held in

December 2008,

Milo Manara was the absolute star

with a three day exhibition of unpublished works Nuovi Sogni (New Dreams). The official poster of the festival was drawn by the Master, alongside with a number of artworks representing aspects of the history of Venice

In 2004 the City of Rimini commissioned the official town poster to Milo

Manara.

Mayor Ravaioli described the artwork as the most beautiful commemorative image Rimini has ever seen.

In 2006 Manara drew the storyboard for the famous commercial for Chanel directed by Luc

N5

Besson

with a modern Little Red Riding Hood interpreted by Canadian actress Estella Warren

Then, Manaras cooperation with the French brand continued in 2007 for the launch of the new beauty line

Prcision Beaut Iniziale, taking inspiration from the

famous model Shalom Harlow.

Milo Manara created in 2007 the ad campaign for the spring-summer collection
of the underwear company

Yamamay.

The drawings were used both for the catalogue distributed in the 400 Yamamay stores as for the 1000 limited edition catalogues which will be distributed to the press and key customers.

The 5 sensual and delicate drawings perfectly impersonate the essence of the Yamamay woman, elegant and happily aware of her femininity

The idea at the base of the concept was to free the woman from the limits of time

with sensual happiness and irony
