ThereadinessofIndonesiatofacetheglobaleconomic   turbulencestillneedsimprovement.TheWorldBank   publicationentitled"AdjustingtoPressures"whichwas  publishedatthebeginningofJuly2013remindedus  aboutit.Theprogressofsomemacroindicatorswhich   waspublishedinAugust2013affirmedinternaland   externalconditionsthatneedtobeconcernedonEconomicgrowthinthesecondquarterof2013slowed   to5.8percent(yoy),Julyinflationjumped8.6percent  (yoy),andthetradedeficitrosetoUSD0,8billionin   June2013. ThedevelopmentoftheIndonesianeconomy   continuedastheslowingeconomicgrowthinAsia   whichisinitiatedbyIndiaandChinaatthebeginning   ofthisyear.Thisconditionhappenedastheimpactof  slowerrecoverygrowthintheUSAandgovernment  debtcrisiswhichstillundergoinEurope.ItalertsAsian   countriestoreducetheirdependencesonUSAand   Europe. Forthatcase,HaruhikoKuroda,thecurrentGovernorof  theBankofJapan,whileheservedasthePresidentof  AsianDevelopmentBank,hadsuggestedAsian   countriestoincreasetheroleofservicesectorsinorder  tocontinuetheireconomicgrowthmomentum.That  recommendationisbasedonhisthoughtthatthe   growthofdevelopedcountrieswillbefollowedby   Asiandevelopingcountries.Theroleoftheservices  sectorinOECDcountrieshasreached75percent,while   Asiawasonly48percent.Theeraofhigheconomic   growthinAsiahasbeendrivenbythemanufacturing   sectorin2010,whichcontributed41percent.This  percentageishigherthanOECDcountrieswhichonly   contributed24percent.Hethoughtthatservice   sectorsaremorepotentialthanmanufacturesectorsto   createwideandinclusivejobopportunityespeciallyfor  womenlaborIndonesia'sdomesticproductionstructureissupported   by24percentfrommanufacturesectors,26percent  fromagricultureandminingand50percentfrom    services.Meanwhile,fromthestructureofemploymentthemanufacturingsectorabsorbed13percentagriculture35percent,andservices48percent.Bothof  thestructureshowedusthedominanceofservices  sectorintheIndonesianeconomy.Largedomesticrole   isnotaccompaniedbyproductivityandefficiency   increasedwhichcausinglowcompetitiveness.Thisis  reflectedontheservicesaccountdeficitofIndonesia's  balanceofpaymentswhichtendtobeincreasedwith   thefreeflowofmovementfromproductionfactors  amongcountries.Thisconditionassertsthatthe   strengtheningofservicessectorisbecoming   increasinglyimportantwiththestartofASEAN    EconomicCommunityin2015. Halfofthevalueaddedfromservicessectorin   Indonesiastillrelyonconstructionactivities,trade, restaurantsandhotels.Theseactivitiesaredominated   byinformalworkerswithrelativelylowskillsdemandsThereforeskilldevelopmentofthissectorshouldbe   encouragedmoreandalsothenumberofexpertsfor  transportandcommunicationsshouldbeincreasedas  wellasfinancial-realestateandbusinessservices. Kurodasuggestedtheneedofservicessector  developmentsynergywithmanufacturingsector,which   havetobesupportedbyinfrastructuresupplyand   regulatoryreform.Ifthiscanhappen,themomentum    ofAsiaeconomicgrowthcouldbesustain,inclusiveand   balanced.Ifthathappens,hethinksthemomentumof  rapideconomicgrowthinAsiawillbesustainable, inclusive,andbalanced.Indonesiacandoit
