From: Carolyn Ross, Director, DHS Office of Human Resources
We are heartbroken to confirm the tragic news of the death of DHS employee Michelle Pearson. Michelle worked at the Human Services Building in Salem as an Accountant 3 with Office of Financial Services. With over 15 years of state service, she transferred to Department of Human Services from Department of Justice in August of 2013. We will share more detailed information on Michelle's work with our agency and memorial services next week as it becomes available. We know this news comes as a great shock. We have asked Cascade Centers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to assist staff process their grief and cope with their loss. A counselor from EAP will be at the Human Service Building (HSB) in Salem tomorrow in
HSB 137 A & B to lead a group session beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at approximately 11:00 a.m.
You are welcome to attend this meeting and are encouraged to participate at your own comfort level. For anyone who does not feel comfortable participating in the group discussion, but would like to speak with a counselor, please contact Cascade Centers EAP services directly at
1-800-433-2320

EAP services are available to all state employees and are completely confidential.
