Calling all dance artists, teachers and leaders.

Hannah White, Youth Dance Contact for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, willbe hosting the first Youth Dance Network Meeting for the sub region. Thismeeting is for those invoved with youth dance including youth dance leaders,practitioners and teachers.There will be a free professional development class

4.30pm-6pm

at the VictoriaHall led by Rachael Lines, of FRONTLINEdance, with members of Breakthrou’dance group. This workshop will focus on inclusive youth dance and will includeexamples of warm ups, improvisation activities, creative tasks and performanceelements. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and to reflect uponinclusive practice within individuals work.This workshop is open to all dancestyles.Following this, an opportunity for information sharing and networking

6pm-7pm.

Items to include:

•

A summary of the Youth Dance Contact role and a chance to find outplans for dance in the sub region.

•

An introduction to Youth Dance England’s initiatives and ways to getinvolved.

•

Information on the West Midlands U.Dance platform, Raw Energy, takingplace at Victoria Hall on 16

January 2010, and ways local dance groupscan be involved in U.Dance.

•

A disscussion into the current provision of youth dance and ways tosupport and develop this.As this is the first metting we are hoping to bring together as many artists,practitioners, teachers and leaders as possible that live or work across the area.
