The University at Albany is proposing to designate nearly 20,000 square feet of vacant space and 54 acres of vacant land

on its uptown, downtown and east campuses. The school will target businesses that align with the SUNY2020 four transformation research clusters: climate and environmental science research; biomedical science and biotechnology; forensic science and cyber security; and advanced data analytics. The University at Buffalo is proposing to designate 177,500 square feet of vacant space in various buildings situated on the downtown, north and south campuses. The school will target Western New York businesses that support industry clusters included in the Western New York Regional Economic Development Councils strategic plan and the Buffalo Billion Investment Development Plan, such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture, clean tech and energy, and health and life sciences. Onondaga Community College is proposing to designate 72 acres of vacant land on its campus. The school will target businesses that support core industry clusters included in the Central New York Regional Economic Development Councils strategic plan, such as clean energy and environmental systems, health, biomedical services and biosciences, agribusiness and food processing, advanced manufacturing and tourism. Cornell University is proposing to designate 35,830 square feet of vacant space and nearly 81 acres of developable land on-campus and 79,151 square feet of vacant space and land off-campus. The school will target businesses that fit within several of the core research areas of the university, including advanced materials, agriculture and food, chemical industry, communications and electronics, genetics, life sciences, green technology and imaging and optics. SUNY Ulster is proposing to designate 168,000 square feet in TechCity, the former IBM facility in Kingston converted to a commercial and light industrial complex off campus. The school will target businesses in the manufacturing, computer networking and cyber security, advertising design and graphic technology, and environmental services industries. Monroe Community College (MCC) is proposing to designate 130,343 square feet of building space and 34.06 acres of undeveloped land on campus at the MCC Building in Rochester and within MCCs property in Brighton and Henrietta. The school will target businesses in the information systems, computing, optics, allied health, agriculture, homeland security and advanced manufacturing industries. SUNY Downstate is proposing to designate 587,000 square feet of space in Brooklyn at the Downstate Biotechnology Incubator and Synthetic Chemistry Facility, and the BioBAT facility at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The school will target start-up and early stage life science and technology businesses, mature biotechnology, biomedical/ life sciences, or high-tech and pharmaceutical companies. Stony Brook University is proposing to designate 172,500 square feet of building space and 240 acres on campus, including space at the Stony Brook University R&D Park in Brookhaven and Smithtown, the Stony Brook Calverton Incubator Campus, the Southampton Campus and the Stony Brook Medicine Campus. The school will target companies in biotechnology, wireless and information technology, advanced materials, smart grid information technologies, electronics, engineering and remanufacturing technologies, film post-production and process technologies, as well as food processing, testing and analysis.
