Bahais of Iran Continue to Be persecuted by Islamic Government 
Since 1979 over 200 Baha’is have been executed by Islamic government agencies in Iran. The Islamicgovernment has destroyed Bahai holy places, burned Bahai homes, denied Baha’is access to educationand spread propaganda throughout the country labeling Baha’is as spies, terrorists and the like.Most recently, several key community members of theBaha’is of Iran were kidnapped,charged without any evidence, imprisoned without access to a lawyer and now, one year later, scheduled for astaged trial that will determine their fate. In 1980, the last time a similar event occurred, all who werekidnapped were executed.
 
Baha’is are a peace loving group of individuals who believe in one Godand one progressive religion that has and will be unfolding throughout the progression of humanity.Baha’is believe that all religions communicate the same essential teachings and come from a singlesource.

The preservation of the freedom of belief sits at the heart of what is necessary for civilization’scontinued upward progress. Whether one is religious or not need not matter.
