Promoting Stem Cell andLiesaving Research
Creigh Deeds will work to maintain the lifesaving researchtaking place in Virginia. He supports research on ethically createdlines of embryonic stem cells and will protect ongoing research atthe University of Virginia and Virginia CommonwealthUniversity on diabetes, cancer, and other critical diseases. AsGovernor, he will work to ensure that construction is completedon the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute, which will provide the most precise form of cancer radiation therapy tomore than 2,000 patients annually.
Protecting Women’s Rights
Creigh Deeds believes that women should receive equal pay forequal work, and has fought to uphold the rights of women hisentire career. He has consistently supported women’s reproductivefreedom and access to family planning. He would prohibitinsurers from excluding FDA approved contraceptive drugs,and he supports comprehensive sex education to keep our youngpeople safe.
