It continues with a look at the history of the two primary parties; Democrats and Republicans. The unit then explores the 2008 Presidential candidates and explores the process of primaries and caucuses.
The unit includes several activities for students to apply their new learning including: Primary and Caucus Tracker, Popular Vote and Electoral Vote Tracker, United States Map for coloring in the red and blue states, Compare and Contrast Venn Diagram, Presidential Timeline, Opinion Essay, Political Position Persuasive Essay, and Design a Poster.
Through this unit students will understand the 2008 Presidential election and the process that the founding father's designed for such elections.
