Understanding Science - Our Dynamic Earth Part 1, is the first in a four part series devoted to understanding Earth Science concepts.

The following unit was developed to lead to understanding the Our Dynamic Earth and covers the following areas: History of Geology, The Interior of the Earth, and Plate tectonics. Upon completion of this unit students will understand and apply scientific concepts, principles, and theories pertaining to our dynamic Earth. Each section devoted on a specific area of our dynamic Earth, natural hazards, resources, and environments are followed by a quiz on material covered. Each quiz is developed with the section reading in mind in order to gauge student’s reading comprehension. Student learning enhancement is brought to this unit through the use of a crossword puzzle, word search, hands-on experiment, research-writing project, and technology interaction. Technology plays an important part in this unit through the use of Website links to further student comprehension.
