IBEW Local 110 Endorses Matt Freeman for State Representative in House District 64B
St. Paul, MN - Today, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 110 announced they endorse Matt Freeman, DFL candidate for the Minnesota State House of Representatives in district 64B. IBEW Local 110 represents more than 2,500 members in Saint Paul and the east metro area. Matt Freeman has the experience to be a strong advocate for the working people of Saint Paul and Minnesota at the Capitol starting on day one said Brian Winkelaar, Political Director for IBEW Local 110. As a former union member himself and the current Director of Outreach and Labor Relations for Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, Matt knows the issues and concerns of our members and others in the labor community. He will fight to create and support good paying, middle-class jobs for our members and fellow Minnesotans across the state. He brings great experience working in our community and in various levels of government and will be able to work collaboratively and be an effective leader. I am truly grateful to have the support of the members of IBEW Local 110, said Matt Freeman. Im proud to have worked alongside Local 110 in my work in Mayor Colemans office, as the State Field and Political Director for Senator Amy Klobuchars campaign, and as a legislative assistant for former Assistant Senate Majority Leader Tarryl Clark at the Minnesota legislature. Working with Governor Dayton and the DFL legislature, I look forward to ensuring the hard-working men and women of Minnesota have access to economic opportunity and fair and safe working conditions in our rebounding economy." Freeman is running to replace Michael Paymar, who has announced that he will not be seeking reelection to the State House of Representatives in House District 64B. Freemans campaign is co-chaired by current Saint Paul Ward 3 City Council Member Chris Tolbert and former Minnesota Nurses Association President Linda Slattengren. ###
