Professor Luis Chiesa is a professor of criminal law at SUNY Buffalo, but he expressly and "respectfully" asked me not to include him in my reports to the faculty of a crime against the judicial process committed by the Dean of Law School. He has since agreed to replace Professor Chuck Ewing as Dean Mutua's Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs. I received a similar request from junior Professor Matthew Steilen, tapped out carelessly on his i-Phone. ("get me off "- no punctuation) The so called "Vice-Dean for Legal Skills," Kim Diana Connolly, (who has never taught a first-year LRW course)admitted that my law suit was a PR disaster, but said that her instructions from the "third floor" (Dean Mutua) was to tout the "new" LAWR program and brag about how great the same-old instructors are. She seems to have no conscience at all about Makau Mutua's lies about Standard 405(c),the clinical faculty standard. I don't think her opportunistic behavior can be reconciled with the professional and ethical responsibilities of legal educators. These opportunists think everything is okay as long as they can say they were only following orders from Dean Mutua. That wasn't an excuse for obeying a criminal at Nuremberg and it isn't an excuse for obeying a criminal on the faculty of a twenty-first century United State law school. At a time when the allegiance of legal academics to the legal profession is widely questioned, the newly hired SUNY Buffalo faculty's opportunism in collaborating with a rogue dean puts it in an awkward position to maintain any pretense of integrity.

Even though you are a full professor of criminal law, with tenure, you've specifically asked me to desist from informing you about Dean Mutua's crimes against the legal process. As far as I know, you have not asked about my allegations from any of your faculty colleagues, still in the building, who have personal knowledge of the facts -- Nils Olsen, Sue Mangold, Dianne Avery, Fred Konefsky, Guyora Binder, Jim Gardner, Stephanie Phillips, Isabel Marcus, Rob Steinfeld, Errol Meidinger, Bert Westbrook. You teach criminal law to law students and that course includes the ethics of criminal prosecution and defense. I don't think anyone in the legal profession will sympathize with your callous disregard for your own ethical obligations as a lawyer and legal educator. I don't know how you are going to explain yourself. http://www.scribd.com/doc/212630247/e-mail-exchange-with-Professor-Luis-Chiesa-3-15-2014 Sincerely, Jeffrey From: lechiesa@buffalo.edu To: jeffrey_malkan@msn.com Subject: Re: Most NY Law Schools See Moves in U.S. News' Annual Rankings Date: Sat, 15 Mar 2014 21:54:32 +0000 Jeffrey, Thanks for your message. I appreciate your willingness to remove me from the mailing list. All the best, Luis --
