Wellness What? Wellness Who?
It seems everywhere I turn lately, people are using the term “Wellness”. In fact, more and more professions have been converting their status to that of a “Wellness Professional”.I'm sure you've heard the term "Wellness" before, but let me ask you, Do you have a true definition of the word? The other day I had someone ask me, what do you mean “Wellness”… They didn’t understand the termand did not have a clear definition of what Wellness was.As I answered them with my own version of the term, I quickly realized that wellness can actuallymean many things to many different people. This led me to want to broaden my scope of the term and see exactly what other people were sayingand how they were using it.First…My Definition…Wellness to me is the proactive care of the human body. Itencompasses the body, mind, spirit and emotions. It is a philosophy of proactive health care with an emphasis onlifestyle and personal responsibility. After thinking about it a bit, I did a few searches on the subject and here are a few other WellnessDefinitions that I have come across and liked.
