TODAYS INCIDENT/Update
- An incident that happened inside Habbo today has encouraged me to re-iterate one of our MOST fundamental and central aspects of everything we do at HabbStream. I realize that asof now we have not had any formal team meetings since the fansite is in its beginning stages but I feel compelled to amplify WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT as a fansite. That is we donot scam, associate with anyone that does, or in any way express relation with parties that do. Now that this is made clear I can give you the story of what happened from my standpoint.I was informed by a friend/staff member (whos name I will not mention) that someone washosting a game where the prize is 100 hc’s. I bade this person to verify that what he just saidwas not a joke and the staff member said it was no joke. He or she asked me to stalk themand I did. In the room I found a bunch of people calling each other names and overalldemeaning each other. I figured this was typical for teens these days and thisgroup/formation. I searched the room owners name and it revealed many scam rooms. Iasked many people if this was for real and the reply was always confirmatory. It wasannounced that the game was FF and trading and other win tactics are acceptable. Since the prize was soo incredibly high this seemed fairly fair. After the first few rounds it was madeobvious that a player had rights and was kicking other people. We then switched to another room and trade was made active. Don’t forget that this is taking up about 30 minutes of mytime but since I have never lost a game of legitimate FF before I continued to play, in hopesthat the prize would benefit our site. I eventually lost my game because someone traded me before laying down furni. This seemed fair so I watched the rest of the game. However after a few more rounds the room owner stopped talking. I waited 10 minutes later still nothingwas going on. It was becoming obvious that this was a scam. I started letting people knowabout the crime that just happened and the people in the room started defending the roomowner and/or attempting to damage my character. At about this time I was informed by thisunnamed staff member that the people in the room were very “down” and start argumentseasily. At this point I am furious with disbelief that a staff member lead me to believe alegitimate game was going in this group of juvenile delinquents and wasting my time. Theowner left whish is a sure sign that he/she had absolutely no intention of paying any prize to
