Are plus size models here to stay?
Is this change in view to body shape simply passing fashion or is there a genuine shift inthe zeitgeist?If the garments are supposed to reflect how a garment will look when you enter into ashop and peruse the rack, then they are heading down the right road and till now modelshave really been considered as coat hangers, albeit pretty ones made of lace and satin anddecorated with ribbons, but still just coat hangers.All animals have a hard-wired instinctive decision making process that allows us to judge, assess appropriately to situations in an instant. It's a survival tactic. Humans arethe only species that will judge, assess and respond inappropriately. We talk ourselves inan out of decisions regularly.Women, who are emotional creatures at the best of times, have the ability to talk their way into a dress regardless as to who who wore it on the runway . . I've witnessed womendisplaying such body inappropriate fashion that it makes me cringe at my ownwomanhood. Now some of this boils down to poor taste, absence of style, misperceptioneven, but not entirely. corsets and fashion in general is seeing a shift to mainstream as views shift . Have youever watched the male species shop ? He will enter a apparel store, scan the store in nomore than 30 seconds usually , and make up his mind whether he wants to buy there. If he chooses to try clothes on, he will decide right then and there as to what he iscomfortable wearing, what suits his perception of himself, how he'd want to show himself to the world and whether the clothes he is wearing fits all those criteria. A woman , willoften go into a clothing store even if she doesn't necessarily like the feel of the place.She'll take stock of every shelf and rack, and check every garment on all shelves, just incase maybe there will be something there that she MIGHT like .Women will try it on, um-and uh , ask her man if her bum appears big, her girlfriends if she looks hot, store assistants what they think and so-on.
