As the traditional roles of librarians change around a new digital materiality, this presentation focuses on the implications and solutions in that environment and advocates for a new role as technologist. It was given to the University of London School of Advanced Study (SAS) Graduate Library Trainees as a readapted presentation covering themes of web 2.0 and technological issues facing librarians such as the diversity of OA harvesters, the role of folksonomy versus controlled vocabulary and indexing in the Google and Grey literature world.
