well, i'm sorry i didn't fully realize your kind offer of still helping get the sunshine
requests from me on the road to being processed, while you're away.
anyway, by any chance can you quickly recall ANY requests from a mr. a.c. thompson,
now at the sf weekly but used to write for the guardian?
Michael

Michael et al,

The short answer is, no. If Ms. Shields is about to go on vacation, she
needs to pass your request on to people who can provide you with the
records in question (assuming that they're disclosable). At the same
time,
it seems to me that by providing you with those persons' names and
e-addresses, she's trying to assist you. Why don't you contact them
directly, as needed, and see what success you have?

Regards,
Rick

how should i respond to this?
is there a provision in the sunshine law or city codes allowing for the departments to
ignore/delay complying with requests when pubic information officers are on vacation or
taking a holiday?
please advise.

Dear Mr. Petrelis:

I will be taking some time off from December 13, returning to the office on December 26. I was wondering if you might consider a holiday hiatus on public records until I return.

Alternately, you can hit me with your holiday sleigh load of requests
before next Tuesday and I'll distribute them before I leave town.

If you do wish to continue to submit public records requests while I'm
gone, you will need to address them to the director or supervisor of the
division that have the records you need.
