Do young people today make a good use of a leisure time? Or they spent too much times
watching television and playing video games, instead of taking part on more proactive
activities.
Nowadays, there are many entertainments that have been introduced to us especially to the young people. Some of those entertainments are good and some are not good to them which those are depends on how people use or value it such as television, internet, outdoor games and many more. Young people today mostly spent too much times watching television and playing video games, rather than use their leisure times with something that give more benefit to them such as playing sports, traveling or joining social activities.
Young people like kids and teenagers like watching the television because they spent more time watching cartoons, movies and dramas than do their works. Recently, kids like watching cartoons such as Ben 10, Shin Chan, Spongebob Square pants and Wonder Pets. As we all know, not all of the cartoons are giving bad influence for the children such as Wonder Pets where this cartoons able to teach the children to learn how to cooperate with others and help them if they are in trouble as they always say, “What’s gonna work, team work!”. In directly, this slogan will stick on their heart and help them learn good things. In contrary, cartoon such as Shin Chan can give bad influence to kids. For example is my younger sister. She takes the underwear and put it on her head, just same like Shin Chan always do.
Besides, teenagers are exposed to the violence by watching television such as WWE, where always show about violence, fighting with others just for a belt. This can actually influence the teenagers because they are tending to follow the actions like wrestling with others. For example, recently there is a case where a boy wrestling his brother until his brother died. This can show that, young people can do something out of their mind, if they want to do so. So that, we have to prohibit some of that program and avoid them from practice violence in their daily life.
