“I have donewhat is mineto do, may
Christ teach
you what isyours to do.”
These are the words Saint
Francis used to prepare theriars or lie ater his death, which ollowed not long aterhe said them. They are his instructionsor living lie: Follow your
heart. Seek truth. Serve each
other. Always be open tolearning. When our seniors graduate, they are always saying that
they don’t want to leave Siena. As I told them at this year’sCommencement ceremony: This is just the beginning!Siena’s liberal arts education will always serve as a
guide or our alumni. When they share their lives withothers, serve in the community advocate or the poor
and marginalized, Siena’s Franciscan mission is alive andthriving. Siena and its Francsican tradition are woven
through the very abric o our alumni’s lives.
When a Siena alum looks back on his or her life,
he or she is able to say “I have done whatis mine to do.”Fraternally,Fr. Kevin Mullen ’75, O.F.M., Ph.D.
