For this event, Margaret Florence Ludwig, the Artist, has hand selecteddistinguished pieces from her
Canadian North Collection
thatrepresent both a diversity of landscape, emotion and environmentaltransition.The
Canadian North Collection
includes select pieces from Nunavut,Baffin Island, and the Canadian Arctic. Each piece has a distinctfeeling and meaning to both the Artist and our natural environment.Most or all of the ice flows viewed on these canvases are either nolonger in existence or have drastically changed physical forms due tothe transformation of the Canadian North. A distinct honor has been given to Margaret Florence Ludwig as herartwork has recently been highlighted and gifted in a presentationgiven by Mr. Al Gore (featured in
 An Inconvenient Truth: Global Warming Effects
). He too knows the importance and cherishes theartistic works of the Canadian North.
Proceeds of any sale or lending will be generously donated toassist Youth Films International.Representatives of Margaret Florence Ludwig will be available for further information.Margaret Florence Ludwig will be making a special appearance toprovide further explanation on the Collection and her experiencesin recreating the Canadian North, as requested.

Starting her artistic career as a young woman inPeterborough, ON, Margaret Florence Ludwig, had early inspirations from the local landscape of the KawarthaHighlands. Her first inspirations were specifically fromBurleigh Falls, where the most southern point of theCanadian Shield emerges, near a long-standing family cottage.Margaret Florence Ludwig has taken her passion for sharingnorthern Canadian landscape to the Artic, North-WestTerritories, Baffin Island, and Northern British Columbia asdesired destinations.Over her 55 year career she has documented through herown eyes the environmental changes, natural transition andnatures adaptation to our Canadian landscape.The Canadian North Collection selected for this eventrepresents the struggle and transition of our naturalenvironment and resilience of change.
