II Estranged
A daimon, and the rising sun,
blast upon the liquid surface,
while a woman is all mouth
and seawards,
her sting is heaven-sent, and then,
the sun dies -
it’s sharpening softness -
its surface
is turned to crust;

solemnly, feelings escalate,
again there’s thirst,
and how she finds him -
in close orbit to Earth’s mother -
the moonman, in the midst
of darkness.
==========
Not Heaven-taught

Is not a man better than a town?
R. W. Emerson

It was their concept
Of the sun from
Days of yore
When time begun
For him, later
To them;

He challenged everyone.

As Robert Burns returned
Next a saint
To go beyond,
They turned the tables on him,
And the wheel,
Told him to run.

And his vanity was gone.

It was nothing to him.
