Firstly, what is ICT? ICT is an umbrella terms that covers all advanced technologies in manipulating and communicating information. The common usage ICT is synonymous assumed the fact that IT or ICT encompasses all mediums, to record information (magnetic disk/tape, optical disks (CD/DVD), flash memory etc. and arguably also paper records); technology for broadcasting information - radio, television; and technology for communicating through voice and sound or images - microphone, camera, loudspeaker, telephone to cellular phones. It includes the wide varieties of computing hardware (PCs, servers, mainframes, networked storage). Rapidly it develops personal hardware market that comprises mobile phones, personal devices, (MP3, MP4, MP5 and MP6) players, and so much more. Therefore, the usage of ICT played a major role in this global world especially in education.

As the ICT applications have become an important part of teaching and learning, the Ministry of Education has invested a huge effort in terms of funding and training to equip teachers and students with ICT skills. However, they are some issues and challenges in integrating ICT in teaching and learning in our Malaysian. One of the issues is about the facilities that have equipped in the school is not enough for the students. This issue becomes a big problem especially for school in rural area such as Sabah and Sarawak territory. Even in the big city, the ICT laboratory also cannot provide a computer for each student. This is not a conducive learning for them to share the computer for two or three student at one time. It will become worse if we go to the rural area that some places even do not have good electricity coverage. It will be irrelevant to

Moreover, the government needs to spend a lot of money to set up the computer for all of the schools. This is because all of the computer\u2019s compartments are imported from other countries such as United States, Japan, Korea and many more. Until now, we do not have the ability to produce electronic products that can beat or stand in line with imported products. That is why we have to spend a lot of money to buy it and even it will cost a lot for any repair or services. To apply this method, the government must increase the school fee that will be a burden to the parent especially parent with the lowest income.Not only that, to teach the student about the ICT and applying them in the

teaching process, the teacher must be prepared enough the knowledge of ICT. This is the most important thing before we can apply the ICT in the education; the teachers need to be mastered in this field first before they can teach other person. The teachers need to attend many workshops before they can apply the ICT in their teaching. Because of that, applying the ICT only can be done in the long term so that the ministry of education can prepare the teachers in ICT skills. The other problem is not all of the students have basic knowledge of ICT. It will be a burden to the teachers to help the student in their core subject and ICT subject at the same time. In long term, it will affect the result of the core subject. As example, the student in rural area does not have the basic knowledge about the technology. Sometimes, they cannot recognize the part of the computer and how it works. So, it will be hard for the teachers to teach them from nothing until they can master it.
