Probability is the quantitative of chance. Its history can be traced back to the seventhcentury in France where Blaise Pascal developed the basics of probability. Later ondifferent statisticians made additions to the theory of probability like Jacob Bernoulli, demouveir etc.Probability is always assigned to an event.Event is a part/subset of sample space.Sample space is the set of all possible outcomes.Experiment is a well defined process which results in one of the possible outcomes.Every repetition of an experiment is called Trial.Outcome is particular result of an experiment.Probabilities are of two types i.e. Subjective probability and Objective probability.Subjective probability is the measure of one’s belief in the happening of an event. Thesediffer from person to person. While objective probability can be proved and remain same irrespective of the personcomputing it.Objective probability can be further classified into two groups’ i.e. a priori probabilityand a posteriori probability.A priori probability is one which is computed before or without any experimentation.A posteriori probability is one which can only be computed after experimentation.CLASSICAL APPROACH OR A PRIORI PROBABILITY:Assumptions: No. of outcomes in sample space are finite. All outcomes are equally likelyThen probability of an event is:P(A)=
