ONE OF MY FANS WROTE:
I ordered it and I read it. Rather to act out of spite, because I couldn't believe that it could be something similar to Twilight and still something different. And Amalia managed to create something what I wasn't expecting. I ordered it and I couldn't stop reading until I finished. I sat one night and a day. Sometimes it was good to have a dictionary close at hand. The gamble paid off.
Mostly, I have to say that the story keeps breathless suspense and forces to read it quickly. It is not easy to stop reading. It shows that love is no simple thing and there are bounds of heart, uncertainness, doubts, sorrows and care. The English language – even if it is a foreign language for me – is easy to understand and main characters are described very good. Mia is very strong, she is even stronger than she thinks. Sebastian is just cute with his charm. Julian is the one who catches attention – not only of other characters in the story, but the reader's attention. I felt in love with him from the first moment I read about him! It's not about his car (original Ford Mustang, what a fancy car!), but his sapphire-like eyes and his uncertainness although his certainty. Scenes with him were written so fluently that I had sometimes a feeling that Julian is as real as a warm cup of tea in my hands.
Is Lovefool another romance? No, definitely not. Lovefool had a deeper sense and I am still impressed by the concept of it. How could such a young person give such a brilliant explanation for the sense of life? I don't know, but the explanation of Amalia is simply, logic and coincides with what normal people think is important and good.
How is Lovefool? I think it is even better than already mentioned Twilight. I wait for the continuation, because I think it will be even better and more dramatic than the first part. Therefore, don't think that Lovefool has a lack of action or moments of surprise! I got sometimes goosepimples and I am no coward! What I missed in books of Stephanie Meyer, I found here: doubts and variety of emotions and moments of surprise until the end. The main characters and relations between them seem to be predictable, but I wasn't sure up to the end how the story ends. And the end is one big surprise! I keep my fingers crossed for Amalia and I wait for the second part! Impatient!
Until then, I will read that book at least once more, because I found many interesting associations and thoughts there, and of course Julian.
