Independent Test Results (Done by Octave Acoustique Inc.) Acoustic tests from different companies compared QuietStride 3.5mm with other leading brands of underlayments. All tests came out positive for Quiet Stride. Products were tested in a bedroom under a Kahrs 15mm, engineered hardwood floor, installed over a 9 concrete slab, with no ceiling assembly. The result: Quiet Stride 3.5mm obtained an FIIC rating of 65 while the other products with different thicknesses obtained FIIC ratings of 63-61. Quiet Stride 3.5mm scored better than all products. Kahrs 15mm Hardwood Floor and Quiet Stride Specification The sound rated floor material shall be an open cellular rubber reinforced with sold rubber particles bonded to fiberglass/cellulose backing, having a thickness of .140 (3.5mm) and a density of 22 lbs per cu.ft. and a minimum tensile strength of 45 lbs. It shall have a minimum compression set recovery of 80% (ASTM D 1055) without loss of resilience. The product shall have a minimum IIC rating of ___ (tested as per ASTM E-90 and E-492) based on the constructions detailed on the Kahrs.com website.
