Measures the importance people giveto their individual interests, relativeto the interests of the group to whichthey belong.
In an individualistic society
The interests of the individual aremore important than the interests of the group
Define themselves through individualcharacteristics, rather than by groupcharacteristics.
Adult members of society are expectedto be independent and are notencouraged to rely on others.
