Lay the T-shirt flat,back side up. Marka straight diagonalline from the bottom leftcorner to a point 2" leftof the neckband. Mark asecond diagonal line fromthe bottom right corner to apoint 2" right of the neckband.

Continue the diagonallines over each shoulderuntil they intersectat the front of theneckband.

Cut along the chalkmarkings, through justone layer, and around theneckband in the front.

Slip the neckbandover your little superhero’shead. Make sure the cape isshort enough that it won’tbe accidentally snagged orstepped on. Now it’s up, up,and away!
Optional:
Acrossthe back of the cape, iron on(or cut out and stitch) lettersto personalize the cape withher name, a title (“SuperSister” or “Big Brother”), or anappropriate word (“Shazam!”).

Lay the T-shirt flat and cut off thehem just above the seam. Then cut off a4" band from the bottom of the shirt.

Cut through the band to make along strip. Fold it in half lengthwise,wrong sides in, with the fold at the top(this is the waistband).
