He was only sixteen but he loves talking with a disguised, deep voice on the pay phone. Te small store owner was a little suspicious, so he listened as the boy talked. “Hello sir, I’m looking or work. Could you use an honest hardworking young man to work or you?” Te listening store owner overheard the boy and was now intrigued. Afer a ew moments, the boy spoke again, “Oh, really? You already have an honest, hardworking young man working there? Well, okay. Tanks just the same.” When the boy hung up the phone, there was a broad smile on his ace. He was obviously elated and thrilled.“Hey, wait a minute!” the store owner said, “Why are you so happy?” I thought the guy said he didn’t need you to work or him?” Te young boy smiled even more. “Well, I was just checking up on my job. I’m that honest hard working young man!” I realized that Eastmont is blessed with hundreds o honest hardworking people too. I took a ew minutes to review the many activities and ministries that our church has been involved in since January. It is almost mind boggling. Visits to homebound, teaching children, eeding the poor, preparing or Easter, and that was just last week! Tere have been three major conerences, special meals or amilies in need, music programs, outreach visits, race car tournaments, gif bags, mission conerences, Bible drills, wild game suppers and tablescapes. Tat’s not even counting our regular Sunday and Wednesday activities. I know you do more than this. I also know why you do it. You have been shown grace by God. It is only natural to serve the Lord you love.
