Advancement within an organization isnormally labeled as ‘promotion. It is anupward movement of an employee fromcurrent job to another that is higher inpay , responsibility , status andorganization level. A mere shifting of anemployee to a different job which hasbetter working hours , better pleasantworking conditions does not implypromotion. The new job will bepromotion only if entails increasedresponsibilities an enhanced pay.
