I was just appalled at the reporting of a woman stopped for making an illegal U turn. Upon investigation the officer found out she did not have a drivers license. He wrote her up for the illegal U turn and not having a driver’s license, and then he added on the ticket that she did not speak English! Reporters have made a big deal about the last part, which is very poor reporting and very prejudicial reporting against the officer! Then it was asked if the officer should be fired for arresting a woman for not speaking English! The reporter left out the rest of the story and made it sound as though that is all the officer arrested her for! Very absurd to say the least. The reporter should have added another couple of questions: Should the officer be fired for stopping the woman for making an illegal U turn? Should the officer be fired for issuing a ticket to the woman for an illegal U turn and not having a driver’s license? Should the reporters be fired for doing a poor job of reporting and making it look like he made an illegal arrest by issuing a ticket for the driver not being able to speak English. I would like to know why she wasn't issued a ticket for endangering the life of a minor and other people for making an illegal U turn. I would also like to know if she is a legal citizen and if so how did she pass her citizenship test without speaking English. I would like to know how long she had been getting away with driving illegally. I would like to know why all of a sudden everyone is turning the officer into a villain and letting a woman who evidently is a very poor driver who is endangering the life of her own child and other people on the road because she is a poor and inattentive driver who can't pass a drivers test in order to obtain a license. Wake up----SHE IS THE BAD GUY, NOT THE OFFICER!
so this person was cited for being a non-english speaking driver, how about we cite the police officer for knowing how to speak english, but cannot spell worth a damn. Did he cite a driver or a diver?
How can a non-speaking Mexican/Hispanic person have a valid drivers' license? Revoke her DL and if at all possible deport her and her family. Good for the Police Officer! This is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA not Mexico.
