We pride ourselves in answering technical questions on a timely basis - a Pile Dynamics expert is always a phone call or email away.

History
Pile Dynamics, Inc. was formed in 1972 to commercialize the Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) and its associated signal matching software known as CAPWAP. It soon started to increase its line of foundation testing systems. By the late 1970s PDI introduced the Saximeter. PDI then developed the Hammer Performance Analyzer, the Angle Analyzer and, in the 1980s, the Pile Integrity Tester (PIT). By the 1990s PDI was moving fast to incorporate new developments in electronics and personal computers to its measuring instruments. The PC based PDA model PAK was introduced in 1991, as was the PIT Collector, the predecessor of the wireless Pile Integrity Tester PIT-X of today. By that time, geotechnical engineers had widely embraced the wave equation analysis software GRLWEAP. The SPT Analyzer and the PDA model PAL joined the PDI line of products in 1995, and the Pile Installation Recorder in 1998. It was then that cellular phone technology allowed Pile Dynamics to develop and patent the remote testing functionality* that it added to the PDA model PAL, creating the PAL-R. The Cross-Hole Analyzer for inspecting the quality of drilled shafts was introduced in 2000. The 2007 PDA Model PAX updated the PAL-R remote testing technology with transmission via broad band Internet, which eventually evolved into SiteLink. In 2008 the PAX was enhanced to acquire data from wireless sensors. In 2010, PDI moved its headquarters to a 3800 m2 (41,000 ft2) state of the art facility to better serve clients. The year 2011 marked the introduction of the Thermal Integrity Proler. The evolution from the Pile Driving Analyzer rst introduced in the 1970s to the 21st century line of wireless and remote technology instruments reects how PDI strives to embrace and incorporate cutting edge technologies into Quality Assurance for Deep Foundations.

Product Line
Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) Performs Dynamic Load Testing of piles and shafts and Pile Driving Monitoring according to ASTM D4945. Results include foundation capacity and an assessment of integrity; for driven piles results also include driving stresses and hammer performance. Available with Traditional or with Smart (compatible with wireless transmitters) accelerometers and strain transducers, with SiteLink (remote testing) technology, with various programs for data analysis, customized output and reporting, and with two signal matching programs: iCAP for a quick assessment of capacity during testing in ideal conditions, and the gold standard CAPWAP for a thorough analysis. CAPWAP results correlate extremely well with static load testing results. The PDA tests any type of deep foundation, and is also used for SPT Hammer Energy Calibration according to ASTM D4633. Pile Integrity Tester (PIT) Assesses the integrity of piles and shafts by the Pulse Echo (Low Strain) Method according to ASTM D5882. May also evaluate unknown foundation depth. Available in Traditional (PIT-FV) and Wireless (PIT-X and PIT-X2) models, and with either one channel of acceleration data acquisition or with two channels (for a second accelerometer or for an instrumented hammer). Furnished with FFT capability (Fast Fourier Transform) for in-the-eld frequency analysis, and with PIT-W Standard software. Options include PIT-W Professional and PIT-S software programs for enhanced data analysis, side mounted accelerometers and various hammer sizes. Thermal Integrity Proler (TIP) Evaluates the integrity and concrete cover of drilled shafts and augered cast-in-place /CFA piles by the thermal method. Data is collected either by probes inserted into inspection tubes or by Thermal Wires tied to the rebar cage. Evaluates concrete quality both within and outside the rebar cage. Tests are typically conducted during the concrete hydration process on the rst day of casting to speed construction. Developed in cooperation with Foundation & Geotechnical Engineering (FGE). Cross-Hole Analyzer (CHAMP) Assesses the integrity of concrete foundations by Cross Hole Sonic Logging and Single Hole Logging, according to ASTM D6760. Furnished with CHA-W data interpretation and reporting software, and with the 3-D tomography software Tomosonic as an option.

Pile Installation Recorder (PIR) Automated Monitoring Equipment for augered cast-in-place, continuous flight auger and drilled displacement piles. Displays grout volume pumped versus depth and many other relevant parameters, as required by the Federal Highway Administration Geotechnical Engineering Circular (GEC) #8 and recommended by the Deep Foundations Institute Augered Cast-In-Place Piles Manual. GRLWEAP Software Analyzes pile driving by the Wave Equation. Performs driveability analysis and pile driving simulation; includes various static analysis options and an inspectors chart output. Also available in the Offshore Wave version designed specically for the challenges of analyzing the long and often inclined offshore piles. SPT Analyzer Determines the Energy of SPT Hammers by Force and Velocity Measurements, according to ASTM D4633 and Eurocode (EN ISO 22476-3:2005). SPT Saximeter By instrumenting the SPT hammer, determines the kinetic energy at impact, records the N-value, and computes N60. E-Saximeter Measures blow count during pile driving and, when equipped with optional accessories, also kinetic energy during pile driving and depth of penetration. Length Inductive Test Equipment (LITE) Assesses depth of existing steel foundations by the inductive method. Angle Analyzer Measures the angle of installation of piles, may be used as a standalone instrument or as an optional accessory to the PIR. Hammer Performance Analyzer (HPA) Evaluates the energy of pile driving or SPT hammers with visible impact weights.

Pile Dynamics supplies all accessories and software for its line of products. Its the one stop shop for Quality Assurance for Deep Foundations.
