JOB TITLE: Marketing and Development Assistant SUMMARY: The Marketing and Development Assistant reports to the Director of Development and has responsibility for managing gift processing across Goodwills overall fundra ising effort while also handling all donor acknowledgements and acting as primary liaison to the organizations Finance Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Processes philanthropic gifts on a daily basis, personally ensuring accurate data entry and adhering to all coding and categorizing requirements for the Raisers Edge database. Serves as the primary liaison between Marketing and Development and the organizations Finance department, acting in a support role for annual financial audits, creating monthly gift reports and helping with financial reconciliation as needs arise throughout the year including but not limited to clarifying gift information with donors and investigating gifts that pose special circumstances from an accounting standpoint. Acts as the organizations Raisers Edge specialist, creating reports and performing analysis for members of the Marketing and Development team as well as Goodwills CEO. Creates appeal-specific web pages in conjunction with direct mail fundraising campaigns and works with the Director of Communications on website/social media maintenance. Supervises temporary/seasonal employees hired to help with data entry ensuring quality control, scheduling work hours and approving time sheets. Drafts and edits acknowledgement letters weekly in advance of seeking CEO signature. Assists with the state direct mail registration process, tracking registration status and preparing documents for executive review/signature. Works in partnership with the Director of Development to organize and maintain the organizations 500-person VIP list which is essential for direct mail and events by working to keep information current and accurate within Raisers Edge. Assists with the coordination and execution of special events and other public relations projects. o Tactfully and diplomatically interacts with internal and external constituents. Uses Constant Contact to periodically email updates and e-solicitations to Goodwills donor base and other constituencies using approved copy and content. Coordinates large mailings generated by the Marketing and Development team. Serves as the Marketing and Development teams primary administrative assistant. o Answers phones and fields questions from donors and other constituents.

Makes copies, sends faxes, orders supplies and acts as administrative liaison between Goodwill departments. o Schedules meetings/room reservations on behalf of the VP, Marketing & Development. o Prepares correspondence and assures that files/records are properly maintained. Serves as the Executive Office back-up in the absence of the Executive Assistant. o Fields calls for the CEO, schedules internal and external meetings, manages executive team scheduling in accordance with the CEOs schedule, and completes forms in accordance with the CEOs specifications. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelors degree preferred with two years Development experience or three to five years of experience without a degree. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prior familiarity with Raisers Edge is strongly preferred and a willingness to become proficient with the database is required. Knowledge of Joomla is preferred. Must be able to help Goodwill remain compliant with Information Security policies by acting with discretion at all times and maintaining strict confidentiality standards while handling donor-related and any other sensitive information. Ability to consistently adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects. Demonstrated initiative, strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills, necessary. Superior organizational skills are required. Must be a team player who is willing to adjust in order to reach goals. Requires acceptable results of CORI check according to Goodwill policy and requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment an employee is exposed to while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is usually moderate. The incumbent may at times be required to travel to various locations to attend fundraising events.
