Description

On September 1, 2009, one month after I joined Scribd, I wrote a piece, “7 Little Known Secrets for Making Money and Saving the World on Scribd.” When I found Scribd, I felt like I’d discovered buried treasure and wanted to share my good fortune. More than 3,000 of you read the article and many left helpful comments. I’d like to share some additional things I’ve learned since then. I look forward to your comments and thoughts. What’s worked for you on Scribd? What ways have you found to make money and make a difference in the world?

First, let me provide some context about me and how I came to Scribd. I’m married, have 5 grown children and 11 grandchildren. For the last 44 years I have been a psychotherapist who specializes in helping men and the women who love them. My life goal is to help people live long and well. I have been writing books since my first, Inside Out: Becoming My Own Man, was published in 1983. When Male Menopause was published in 1997, it struck a chord with people throughout the world and was soon published in 25 foreign languages. Since then four other books have been published including The Irritable Male Syndrome and Male vs. Female Depression.

April-I found this to be a very interesting article. I am beginning to get very involved in online networking. I would like your take on another site if you get the time to write about it www.slideshare.com. Maybe you have already experienced it. Please send me any information.

JedDiamondPhD: Glad you found this helpful. I've found Scribd to be a great environment for posting and sharing. I hadn't heard about slideshare.com. With limited time and energy I'm focusing on Scribd. 1 day ago

Jed, now that is a great article. Thank you so much. I like the way you emphasize "nice images" and that you support creative commons. I license all photos that I do under creative commons. So if you like to use any of those in your publications, then go for it: http://www.zelbel.com

Dude! Scribd's first user manual! Thanks for putting it all together, so well and so concisely. You are truly gracious to do this. Thrilled to be mentioned.

JedDiamondPhD: I'll be honest. I chose people whose work I find important and who have taken the time to support this burgeoning Scribd Community. I hope I can add many other examples and include more people as this "Scribd user manual" expands. For those who didn't read my first installment, I'm attaching it here. 10/27/2009

Friends, As you know I've been writing recently about using Scribd to earn money and change the world. On the latter note, today we here in Willits are putting on an action, the Willits walk 350, along with 5,000 other groups in 181 countries for world environmental day. Check it out at http://www.350.org/

joli8erati: Your articles DO interest me, thank you for caring, too. I have had so many disappointments when it comes to Doctors. I wish more Doctors cared. I have had Chrone's Disease for 26years, and Doctors still do not give me credit to know my own body. I'm am treated with malice and discontent, it seems, because I refuse to DIE. Sad, huh? You have a nice smile, your eyes seem sincere. Peace n Love 10/24/2009

JedDiamondPhD

JedDiamondPhD: JoJo, I find in this day and age, we often have to educate our own doctors about how best to treat us and if they're not willing to learn from us, we need to fire them and find a health care practitioner who truly wants a partnership with their patients. Do take care. 10/25/2009
