The term exotic food usually refers to the foods introd uced from other countries. Even the food of McDonalds can seem exotic for the people of Thailand. In some countries there are really fascinating or extraordinary specialties. Many times those foods are made out of very fresh or products that are still alive. The fresher the food, the fewer problems there might be and the better the taste is. In the past, people used to cook only with fresh ingredients; therefore, they could ward off potential health hazard and assured the best quality in terms of taste. Have you ever eaten alive octopus? Its a very popular dish in Korea. It tastes great and contains o lot of nutrients which might get destroyed with heat. Have you ever seen a creature called Gaebul (in Korean)? It is a species of marine spoon worm. When you touch its body, it shrinks. It is also a very popular dish in Korea. It is hard to find a person who has never tasted a chicken egg. But what about a balut? It is a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled and eaten in the sell. It is believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein food. It is commonly sold as street food in the Philippines. Whichever exotic or rare food you encounter in different countries, it is worth trying. It opens a whole new world of flavors and makes traveling more exciting.
