What do you know about synchronized swimming? Sean the artiele to find the words from the WORD FOR WORD section in it. Read the artiele and say what synchronized swimmers have to wear during practice or competitions. / Synchronized swimming was originally called "water ballet". Competitors execute a series of choreographed moves in water, which may inelude "substantial twists, thrusts, rockets and boosts". Swimmers can compete either in the "duets" competition or in the "teams" evento Competitors perform a technical routine, consisting of a series of required movements, and a free routine, which allows each duet or team to "perform its own choreographed material". There are hundreds of positions that can be used to create combinations. Competitors wear a rubber nose elip to keep water from entering their nose. Some swimmers wear ear-plugs to keep the water out of their ears. Hair is worn in a bun. Competitors also wear custom swimsuits and headpieces. Swimmers wear heavy eye make-up which helps portray the emotions involved with the routine; it is necessary to accentuate the eyes of each individual swimmer. Underwater speakers ensure that swimmers can hear the music and synchronize with each other. Synchronized swimmers use goggles during practice but not during routine competition. Synchronized swimming is a beautiful sport which requires special skills and years of training.
