Exercise 5: Graphical illustration of the Periodic Law
The data to be graphed is on pages 177-178 of the Chemistry Workbook
Procedure: (GRAPHING PAPER)1.Draw a line in the middle of a piece of a graph paper, separating the page intotop and bottom. On the top, plot a graph of ionization energy (y-axis) vs. atomicnumber. For each graph, connect successive dots with straight lines. Also, ensurethat identical atomic numbers are plotted on the same vertical position on the sheet(i.e. atomic number 1 in the top graph should be in the same line as atomic number 1in the bottom graph).2.Circle each point and label it with the symbol of the element.3.Connect the elements of the same family/group with solid lines, each in differentcolor.
