Ujrat detare ndahen n: 1. Ujra bregdetare (t brendshme dhe territoriale) dhe 2. Ujra t lira.

 Ujrat e brendshme detare prfshijn: o -ujrat e limaneve detare, o ngushticat, o Ujrat brenda arkipelagve, o detet e brendshme, o hapsirat ujore mes vijs s batics m t lart dhe zbatics m t ult si dhe o deltat e lumenjve.

Gjiri detar e ka statusin e ujrave t brendshme vetm nse brigjet e gjirit i takojn nj shteti dhe hyrja n gjirin detar nuk ka gjersi m t madhe se dyfishi i gjersis s ujrave territoriale.

Krijohen nga prurjet n brezin e cekt detar ku krijohet tok e re, krejt e rrafsht, npr t ciln ngadalsohet rrjedha e lumit dhe ndahet n disa deg, ne forma t ndryshme:trekndore,,gjysmrrethor e,gishtore, t zgjatura etj.

Ujrat territoriale
Prfaqsojn nj pjes t detit q shtrihet paralelisht me vijn e bregut n nj largsi t caktuar dhe jan burim i rndsishm i pasuris detare, rrug e lundrimit dhe zon mbrojtse nga ana e detit.

Shtrihen gjat gjith bregut t saj, n nj gjersi prej 12 miljesh detare, Fillon nga vija e drejt baz- nga Kepi i Rodonit (Muzhit), Kepi i Palls, i Lagjit (Kalas s Turrs) derdhja e Semanit, derdhja e Vjoss, bregu perndimor i ishullit t Sazanit, Kepi i Gjuhzs dhe i Gjirit t Grams dhe mandej midis bregdetit shqiptar dhe ishujve t Republiks Greke, deri prmes Kanalit t Korfuzit.

Zona e jashtme
Sipas Konvents se Gjenevs, zona e jashtme nuk mund t shtrihet m tej se 12 milje nga vija fillestare e ujrave territoriale. Brezi i jashtm - paraqet pjesn e detit t lir dhe prfshin hapsirn detare qe shtrihet jasht ujrave territoriale n drejtim t hapt deri n largsi t caktuar.

 Brezi i jashtm fizikisht dhe juridikisht sht pjes e detit t hapt mbi t shtetet kan vetm disa t drejta t kufizuara t cilat ua jep e drejta ndrkombtare pr mbrojtjen e interesave doganore, sanitare, fiskale, imigracionit, rezervimit t s drejts s peshkimit.
