 A fresh survey conducted through the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF) as wellas the National Fatherhood Initiative (NFI) reveals that when it comes to Father's Day, the gift of quality family time is better than every other. An overwhelming 92.1 percent of respondents said it could be easier to spend some time togetherdoing something like boating and fishing on Father's Day than it could be to give a gift. Inside thesame survey, approximately 50 % of the respondents stated that fishing or boating was the simplestway for fathers to invest quality time making use of their children on Father's Day."Fishing and boating are great activities for everyone so the whole family can have and participatefun together," said Bruce Matthews, President and CEO of RBFF. "Out on this type of water, thereare actually no distractions -- absolutely nothing to interrupt the high quality family time. ThisFather's Day, skip the neckties and cologne and present Dad a gift they can really use -- time toreconnect with his family on the water."Previous RBFF surveys found http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/fishing/regulations/ that fishing and boatingranked as the best leisure activity for spending time with family. Additionally, surveys indicated that87 percent of Americans believe fishing and boating has a positive impact on family relationships."Being on water along with your child is not only about 'reeling from the big one' -- it's aboutspending time together and creating memories that last a lifetime," said National FatherhoodInitiative (NFI) President Roland C. Warren. "boating and Fishing are easy ways for a father to goout with his kids, and anyone who's ever gone fishing using their Dad remembers it well."RBFF interviewed 1,010 randomly selected adults nationwide by telephone between May 23 and 27,2003. The info were weighted to reflect the demographic makeup from the adult United statespopulation.
