Tutorial: How to add some "wow" to your cards/scrapbook pages
By: Jacquie Heffner AfterHoursStamper.comHave you ever started on a card/scrapbook page and realized that you need to add something extra, butyou are not sure what? Today I am going to do a tutorial on how you can make some funembellishments, as well as jazz up some of the existing embellishments you have on hand.Ready to get started? Here we go.
Embellishment 1:
Cut out a shape using a die cut machine or punch. Cover your cut out with glimmer mist, radiant rain or other similar glimmer type product. Take a versamark pen or inkpad and cover your image with theversamark (sometimes I press my cutout into the ink pad, sometimes I color with the pen).Cover the image with clear embossing powder, heat set the powder, cover the image again with theversamark ink (this will fill in any parts that were not covered the first time), add more clear embossing powder and heat set again. If you desire, add a third layer by following the above directions.
Embellishment 2:
Flowers: Add some pop to your flowers by spraying them with glimmer mist or other similar product. You can also add a drop or two of crystal lacquer (or other similar product), which creates a dewdropeffect on your flower. Here is a picture of a card thatuses both of the abovetechniquesEven though you can't see it inthe picture the flowers have agolden sheen from the glimmer mist, adds a nice pop with the"dew drops."Both of the white scrolls weresprayed with glimmer mist andthen embossed three times. Ialso sprayed some glimmer miston all the white layers and thenthe designer paper. And Iadded a "thank you" stamped onshrink plastic to the card (youcan't see it very well in the pictures but it is clearly visiblein erson, I romise : )
