Medication: nicotine replacement (patch,gum, nasal spray, lozenge, inhaler), bupropion(Wellbutrin, Zyban, Budeprion), varenicline(Chantix)
Behavioral therapy
Accupuncture
Hypnosis
“Cold turkey”
Do the obvious stuff on quit day
Stop buying cigarettes
Get rid of your current stash - throw themaway. That goes for your ash trays, lighters,and matches, too.
Tell family, friends, and colleagues - go pub-lic.
Some of them will nag you.
Some will be there when you need some sup-port.
Some will remind you when you try to startup again.
Some can help distract you.
 
And just the thought of disappointing some of them will keep you going.
Add up how much you would have spent thisyear on cigarettes if you would have kept onsmoking.
Avoid situations that you always smoked in.
Don’t join friends or colleagues on smokebreaks.
Avoid alcohol.
Do something different after meals.
Chew gum.
Know the withdrawal symptoms and knowthat they are temporary.
