Setting Up a POP3 Email Account
1. SelectMail / Preerences.
2. Click theAccountsbutton, located at the top o thewindow.3. To add a new account, click the plus (+) button, locatedin the bottom let corner o the window, to launch theSetup Assistant.4. Click theAccount Typedrop-down menu, and thenchoosePOP.5. Enter the ollowing inormation:• Account Description—Use a phrase that will helpyou identiy this account, such as Home, Work andso orth.• Full Name—Enter your frst and last name. Thisis the name that will appear in theFromfeld omessages you send, right ahead o your emailaddress. A company name can also be used, i youpreer.• Email Address—Enter your entire email address(e.g.,
myname@mydomain.com
), using alllowercase letters.6. ClickContinueto proceed to the next window.7. Under Incoming Mail Server, do the ollowing:• Incoming Mail Server—Enter the POP server name:
pop.emailsrvr.com
• User Name—Enter your entire email address (e.g.,
myname@mydomain.com
), using all lowercaseletters.• Password—Enter the password you created or thisemail address.

8. Mac Mail will now veriy your address to make sure thesettings are correct. This is a somewhat slow process(although not as slow as the one in Step 13). I there’san error, recheck your inormation. Otherwise, just clickContinueto proceed to the next window.9. Under Outgoing Mail Server, do the ollowing:• In theOutgoing Mail Serverbox, enter the outgoing(SMTP) server:
smtp.emailsrvr.com
• Click theUse Authenticationcheckbox.• In theUser Namebox, enter your entire emailaddress (e.g.,
