AGARD

mission
of
AGARD
is
to bring togetherthe
leading
personalities
of
the
NATO
nations
in
the
fieldsof science and

technologyrelating
to aerospaceforthe
following
purposes:

Exchanging
of
scientific
and
technical
information;

Conunuously stimulating advances
in
the aerospace
sciences
relevanttostrengtheningthe common
defence
posture;
-
Improving
the co-operationamong membernations
in
aerospace researchand development;
-
Providingscientific
and
technical
advice
and
assistance
to the
Military
Committee
in
the
field
of
aerospace research
and
development
(with
particular
regard
to
its military
application);
-
Rendering
scientific
and
techtnical
assistance,
as
requested,to
other
NATO
bodies
and
tomembernations
in
connection
with
research and development problems
in
the aerospace
field;
-
Providingassistance
to
member
nations
for
thepurposeof
ncreasing
their
scientific
and
technical
potential;

Recommending
effective
ways
for
the membernations
to use
their researchand developmentcapabilitiesfor
the
common
benefit
of the
NATO
community.

AGARD
is
the National
DelegatesBoar1
consisting of
officially
appointed
seniorrepresentatives
from each
member
nation.The
mission
of
AGARD
is
carried
out
throughthe Panels
which
arecomposed
of
experts
appointed
by
the National
Delegates,
theConsultantand
Exchange
Programme
and
the AerospaceApplications
Studies
Programme.Theresults
of
AGARD
workare reported
tothe
membernations andthe NATO Authoritiesthroughthe AGARD
series
of
publicationsof
which this is
one.Participation
in
AGARD
activities
is by
invitationonly
and
is
normally
limited
to
citizens
of the
NATO
nations.
