Śrī Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī is a Sanskrit classic describing pure bhakti, or loving devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The work was commissioned directly by Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the Supreme Lord appearing as His own devotee in India about 500 years ago. It stands far above any other analysis of the relationship between the soul and God.
