October 27, 2009Dear WC classmate,Can you believe that we only graduated a few months ago? I hope you are alldoing well and are not too let down by the economic conditions around us.Even though we have moved on from Washington College, life here is stillthriving. There have definitely been many changes here at Washington College sincewe have left. Sadly, the temporary dining facility will no longer be in use. They are going to open Hodson Hall in November. It is a spectacular additionto campus! The new student center will give students hours of entertainmentaway from their exams and paper. The Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Artsopened its doors to students and faculty on the first day of classes. It is anamazingly fresh look to the cater walk. And the final phase of the AlumniHouse renovation will include building an entertainment porch andconstruction should begin in early October. Not even a year after we’vegraduated and we already have new buildings to give us a reason to comeback.Congratulations to many of the athletes in our graduating class! BrittanyLambert was named an ESPN the Magazine At-large Academic all Americanfor the second straight year. Lacrosse player, Jimmy Kielek was awarded anNCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. And both swim teams were awarded TeamScholar All American status for the Spring 2009 by the College SwimmingCoaches Association.I encourage you all to come back to Washington College or to attend analumni event! Whether you attend the holiday gatherings in December,Birthday Ball in February, or Reunion 2010 on May 14, 15 & 16, WashingtonCollege would be happy to have you.Be sure to check out wcalumnet.com for details on upcoming events.
