The purpose of the visits is to enable the Unit to: Collect information and data on fgm and related crimes; Establish contacts and build partnerships with communities, local administrators, civil society organizations and other stakeholders on the ground; Undertake sensitization on the Anti-fgm laws.

At the conclusion of the visits, the Unit is expected to; Prepare a comprehensive Report on FGM; Early/Forced
marriages; Propose strategies for combating these crimes; Prepare Standing Operating Procedures/Manuals on investigation and prosecution of fgm and related crimes. Review and propose amendments to the Anti-fgm Act (2011);
Organise a national Stakeholders Forum to discuss its Report and develop a National Action Plan on fgm and related crimes. 5. More details may be obtained from the Head of Unit, Ms.
